Art is happening in every corner of Grinnell. The new Grinnell Arts Center located at the stately old Stewart Library building on the downtown square houses a community gallery and performance area, education space and administration of the Grinnell Area Arts Council. There is almost always something going on at the Arts Center, and it's a great place to stop and see what is happening generally in Grinnell in the Arts. Programs of the Arts Council span everything from summer arts camp and summer and after school arts classes to community theatre to art festivals and monthly gallery events to Thursday Music in the Park throughout the summer to performances by the Turlach Ur Pipe Band. Grinnell boasts three modern theaters, including the Voertman Theater, a 500-seat auditorium located in the Grinnell Community Center and host to numerous community productions and the Voertman Event Series with monthly events during the winter. Grinnell College brings a wide range of artistic and cultural activities to campus every week. On any given day, night, or weekend, guests may enjoy entertainment ranging from a break dancing workshop to a concert by their favorite musician.
